It always seems to approach so quickly. We are so busy planning the holidays, what to send in to school for Valentine’s Day, where to go for spring break…then BAM, it’s Mother’s Day! Now, in my family, my husband always works on Mother’s Day so I spend the day with my mom and my boys. Each year I end up waiting until the last minute to decide what to do even though I click “like” on a hundred cool events I want to attend. I wanted this year to be different!
Luckily, NJ offers a wide variety of fun and exciting Mother’s Day experiences. There are events to meet for every age, interest and budget. To make planning easier for myself and for all of you, I decided to put together a list of some amazing Mother’s Day events in NJ!

Mother’s Day Frame Craft at Michaels Craft Stores – May 6 10am-12pm: For only $2/person, kids can make unique frames to celebrate mom on her special day!
Make a Tote for Mom at Imagine That Museum – May 7 and 14 10am: Moms can work together with their children to make an adorable tote bag. It is included with the price of admission!
Moms are FREE at Medieval Times – May 8-14: Step back in time this Mother’s Day at Medieval Times where your special Queen is free (with the purchase of one full-price adult ticket).
Mother’s Day Walk-In Event at Chef It Up Mount Olive – May 13 9am-11am: Kids ages 2.5 and up can put together an edible strawberry patch. It’s only $10/person!
Mother’s Day Card Crafts at Michaels Craft Stores – May 13 10am-12pm: For only $2/person, kids can make unique cards to celebrate mom on her special day!
Breakfast for Mom at Fosterfields Living Historical Farm – May 13 10:30am-12pm: Kids can help make a special breakfast for their moms that was made in the early 20th century.
Mother’s Day Wine Trail Weekend at Terhune Orchards – May 13-14 12pm-5pm: Celebrate mom with free wine tastings and bakery samples.
Beautify Butterflies, Birds and Cinco de Mayo Festival at Camden Children’s Garden – May 13-14: Families can enjoy the beautiful gardens all day, plus moms ride FREE on all garden amusement rides!
Mother’s Day Picnic Baskets at Grounds for Sculpture – May 13-14 11am-4pm: Pre-order a delicious picnic lunch for mom (by May 10) and enjoy a day on the grounds.
Moms are FREE at Wild West City – May 13-14 ALL DAY: Go back in time this Mother’s Day and explore the old west. Moms are free with a paid child admission.
Mother’s Day at Willowwood Arboretum – May 14 12pm-4pm: Celebrate Mother’s Day with a self-guided tour through the beautiful gardens including the lilac collection. Light refreshments will also be provided.
Mother’s Day Tea Party at Morey’s Piers – May 14 12pm-5pm: Families are invited to a fun tea party by the tea cups to celebrate mom. Kids can also decorate cookies. Moms ride free 12pm-2pm.
Mother’s Day Cruise with Lake Hopatcong Cruises – May 14 9am, 12pm and 6pm: Families can celebrate mom while enjoying a scenic ride around Lake Hopatcong. Moms get a complimentary cocktail too! Check out my review of my experience with Lake Hopatcong Cruises.
Mother’s Day Brunch at Alstede Farms – May 14 9am-2pm: Families can enjoy a scenic hayride then a yummy buffet brunch with farm fresh food. (We attended this event 2 years ago and LOVED it!)
Mother’s Day Walk at Tenafly Nature Center – May 14 10am-12pm: Enjoy the great outdoors on Mother’s Day with a guided walk to celebrate mom.
Mommy and Me High Tea with Princess at Parteaz – May 14 11am-12:30pm: Moms can enjoy a day with their children and a special princess while sipping on tea and eating sandwiches, scones and other sweet treats. Families will also enjoy story time, dress up and photos.
Mom and Me Spa Day and High Tea at Parteaz – May 14 2pm-3pm: Pamper yourself this Mother’s Day with mini facials with your little one. You will also make your own bath bomb as well as enjoy tea and sweet treats.
Mom’s Dig For FREE at Diggerland – May 14 11am-6pm: Bring mom to Diggerland USA for a fun day of digging with family!
Moms are FREE at Jenkinson’s Aquarium – May 14 ALL DAY: Mom gets to enjoy an under the sea adventure for FREE with a paid child admission.
Mother’s Day Festival at Alba Vineyard – May 14 12pm-5pm: Celebrate Mother’s Day with fun family-friendly activities, live music and winery tours. Wine tastings are available for an additional cost.
Moms Golf for FREE at Lake Hopatcong Golf Club – May 14 11am-9pm: Enjoy a fun day playing mini golf with mom while enjoying the gorgeous views of Lake Hopatcong!
